The FEI World Equestrian GamesTM ended beautifully with Germany topping the medal table

The much-awaited FEI World Equestrian GamesTM ended today at the Tryon International Equestrian Center after two weeks of intense competition in the disciplines of Dressage, Eventing, Reining, Jumping, Vaulting, Para-Equestrian Dressage and Vaulting – the Endurance trial having been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. About 650 top-level athletes coming from more than 70 countries gathered here in North Carolina to battle for the World Championship title in each discipline. As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the event, Swiss watch brand Longines was delighted to time incredible feats and to present all medalists with elegant watches in celebration of their sports performances.

 

In today’s Jumping Individual World Championship, Simone Blum (GER) and her mount DSP Alice claimed victory ahead of Martin Fuchs (SUI) on Clooney and compatriot Steve Guerdat on Bianca. On Friday, the Team competition was won by American representatives – made up of Laura Kraut on Zeremonie, Adrienne Sternlicht on Cristalline, McLain Ward on Clinta and Devin Ryan on Eddie Blue – followed by Team Sweden and Team Germany.

 

The Driving World Championship – one of the most spectacular equestrian disciplines – comprised three days of competitions: Dressage, Marathon and the Cones trial. Driving’s gold medals went to Team USA and Australian rider Boyd Exell. Team Netherlands and Team Belgium respectively took the silver and the bronze medals while Chester Weber (USA) and Edouard Simonet (BEL) completed the podium in the individuals.

 

The results of this eventful second week also included the victory of Italy’s Lorenzo Lupacchini and Silvia Stopazzini in the Pas de Deux Vaulting Championship. The Team title went to the German representatives and the Individuals gold medals were taken by Kristina Boe (GER) on Don de la Mar and Lambert Leclezio (FR) on Poivre Vert. In addition, the Squad Vaulting Championship saw the great victory of Germany’s Team Norka des VV Koeln-Duennwald on Danny Boy OLD.  

 

Finally, in Para-Equestrian Dressage, the Individuals gold medals went to Italy’s Sara Morganti in Grade I, Stinna Kaastrup (DEN) in Grade II, Rixt van der Horst (NED) in Grade III, Sanne Voets (NED) in Grade IV and Sophie Wells in Grade V. In Freestyle, gold medals were claimed by Sara Morganti on Royal Delight in Grade I, Stinna Tange Kaastrup on Horsebo Smarties in Grade II, Rixt van der Horst on Findsley in Grade III, Sanne Voets on Demantur N.O.P. in Grade IV and Sophie Wells on C Fatal Attraction in Grade V. In the Team category, Team Netherlands composed of Frank Hosmar on Alphaville N.O.P., Nicole den Dulk on Wallace N.O.P., Sanne Voets on Demantur N.O.P. and Rixt van der Horst on Findsley, captured the title.

Eight new gold medallists in the disciplines of Para-Dressage and Vaulting at FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018

Dressage World Championship at FEI World Equestrian GamesTM Tryon 2018. Rihards Snikus (LAT) took second place on King Of The Dance followed by America’s Roxanne Trunnell on Dolton.

 

In Grade II, Stinna Tange Kaastrup (DEN) on Horsebo Smarties took the win ahead of Nicole den Dulk (NED) on Wallace N.O.P. and Lee Pearson (GB) on Styletta.

 

The Netherland’s Rixt van der Horst – who already won two gold medals at the Games – and her mount Findsley claimed the Grade III Freestyle competition. Rebecca Hart (USA) on El Corona Texel followed ahead of Germany’s Dr. Angelika Trabert on Diamond’s Shine.

 

Dutch rider Sanne Voets on Demantur N.O.P. earned her third gold medal at the Individual Freestyle Grade IV Para-Dressage World Championship. Brasilian rider Rodolpho Riskalla on Don Henrico followed ahead of Kate Shoemaker on Solitaer.

 

Finally, the Freestyle Grade V Para-Dressage title went to Great Britain’s Sophie Wells on C Fatal Attraction, the couple already took the gold on Tuesday. Frank Hosmar on Alphaville N.O.P. took the silver again and the bronze was claimed by Japanese rider Tomoko Nakamura on Djazz F.

 

On the same day, the Individual Female Vaulting Championship was taken by Germany’s Kristina Boe on Don de la Mar. Compatriot Janika Derks on Carousso Hit earned the silver medal while Lisa Wild (AUT) on Fairytale completed the podium.

 

In the Individual Male Vaulting Championship, France’s Lambert Leclezio earned first place on Poivre Vert. German riders Jannik Heiland and Thomas Brüsewitz respectively took the silver and the bronze medal.

 

Finally, the Squad Vaulting Championship has seen the great victory of Germany’s Team Norka des VV Koeln-Duennwald on Danny Boy OLD. Team SUI Luetisburg (SUI) on Rayo de la Luz took the silver followed by Team RC Wildegg (AUT) on Alessio l’Amabile.

Team America and Team Netherlands reigned supreme in the Team Jumping and Para-Dressage Championships at FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018

On Friday 21 September 2018, Team USA claimed the title on home soil at the Team Jumping Championship. Laura Kraut on Zeremonie, Adrienne Sternlicht on Cristalline, Devin Ryan on Eddie Blue and McLain Ward on Clinta demonstrated incredible performance during the competition and took the win ahead of Team Sweden and Team Germany.

 

During the Para-Dressage Team competition, the gold was taken by The Netherlands’ representatives including Frank Hosmar on Alphaville N.O.P., Nicole den Dulk on Wallace N.O.P. as well as Sanne Voets and Rixt van der Horst, who already took the gold in the Individuals. Team Great Britain arrived second and Team Germany completed the podium

Lorenzo Lupacchini and Silvia Stopazzini (IT) captured the Pas de Deux Vaulting Championship at FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018

On Thursday 20 September 2018, Italian athletes Lorenzo Lupacchini and Silvia Stopazzini on Rosenstolz set themselves apart in the Pas de Deux Vaulting Championship at FEI World Equestrian GamesTM Tryon 2018. Austria’s Jasmin Lindner and Lukas Wacha took the second position followed by Germany’s Theresa-Sophie Bresch and Torben Jacobs. All winning athletes including the lungers were presented with elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing.
